Health centers across the country
Expert, innovative, accessible care is why 2.4 million patients go to Planned Parenthood for their health care. There are more than 600 Planned Parenthood health centers around the country, operated by 56 local affiliates.
Health services and staff are different in different places. Here’s a general look at who you can expect to meet when you come to a Planned Parenthood health center.
Planned Parenthood doctors, nurses, and health care staff
At Planned Parenthood health centers, gynecologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other licensed medical professionals provide high-quality, affordable care. These friendly and compassionate health care providers are here to give you the care you need, including birth control, pregnancy testing, STD testing, cancer screenings, annual exams, LGBTQ services, and so much more. Many health centers are also proud to provide abortion services.
Health care assistants provide additional support throughout your visit to the health center. All of our health care staff are highly-trained and experienced in working with people of all ages and genders. They’re happy to answer all of your questions and take pride in what they do: providing the highest-quality care — no matter what.
Educators, Counselors, Administrators, and More
Educators Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of sex education in the country, working in health centers, at schools, and in communities.
Counselors are available at many Planned Parenthood health centers to talk with you about your pregnancy options, help you work through difficult situations like sexual assault and intimate partner violence, and connect you with local resources.
Administrators Planned Parenthood health centers wouldn’t be able to function without the hard-working dedication of administrative staff at the front desk and behind the scenes. Health center administrators work to provide financial assistance, keep your health records up to date, manage prescriptions, contract with insurance companies, and more.
