As the Executive Vice President for Health Care at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), Kim oversees critical health care division programs at the national and affiliate levels, including medical services, health education, the Consortium of Abortion Providers, research and clinical quality improvement, contraceptive equity, health care operations, online health services, affiliate accreditation and evaluation, and affiliate governance and leadership.
Since joining PPFA, one of Kim’s primary objectives has been to expand health care access through innovative technology in order to continue meeting people’s needs in today’s rapidly evolving health care environment. Among these cutting-edge initiatives are telemedicine for contraception and abortion care, digital health tools, and the Chat/Text program. Under Kim’s purview, medical services and accreditation have increased their efforts to broaden services offered at our affiliates, including transgender care, PEP/PrEP services, and primary care. Additionally, the division has expanded efforts on operational efficiencies business models through targeted program offerings, interactive trainings, and dedicated consulting for the affiliates in order to improve health equity and access to care across the country.
Prior to joining PPFA, Kim served as President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Keystone in Pennsylvania for more than a decade. Before that, she served in senior management positions for several years at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties in California. Over the years, Kim has held a variety of leadership roles within the Federation, including serving as the Chair of the Affiliate Chief Executives Council (ACEC) and Better Health Partnership. Her background also includes creating and growing managed service organizations to better achieve scale, stronger service offerings, and efficiencies.
In addition to her 20 years of unwavering commitment and dedication to Planned Parenthood and its mission, Kim’s personal interests and board volunteer roles have included the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley (Feeding America); former Chair of the Better Health Partnership; former Board of Directors member for Laura’s House, a transitional women’s shelter in California; former Board of Directors member for Voxent, a nationally managed services organization providing technology services to affiliates; and former Board of Directors member for Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
Kim and her husband live in Pennsylvania, along with their two children, two dogs, and a menagerie of smaller critters typically found in a home with teenagers.
