Wallace D’Souza is the chief financial officer at Planned Parenthood Federation (PPFA) and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. He is responsible for developing and implementing overall financial strategy, long-term strategic planning, financial and cost management, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, auditing, investment strategy, project management, and financial system implementations. He is responsible for working with the boards, the finance committees, audit subcommittee and investment subcommittee, overseeing the activities of both 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations.
Prior to joining PPFA in 2012, Mr. D’Souza was the acting chief financial officer/ senior director of global strategic planning at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), an organization focused on the development of HIV vaccines for use throughout the world. He was instrumental in building the infrastructure, systems and business processes there as they expanded from a $5 million organization to a $100 million complex nonprofit with operations overseas in Africa, India, and Europe.
Prior to IAVI, Mr. D’Souza served as the director of budget & financial services at Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation (MDRC), a nonprofit, social policy research organization dedicated to learning what programs and policies will improve the well-being of low-income people. He also served as CFO/controller of one of MDRC’s international subsidiaries in Canada and as the global corporate controller of Compass Group LLC, an asset management and private equity firm.
He holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Auditing from Maharaja Sayajirao University, India. Mr. D’Souza was born in Kenya and lived there for 16 years and in India for 4 years.
