Video: Stepping Up During the Pandemic

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit California almost exactly a year ago and the state was among the first to go on lockdown, PPMM stepped up immediately to take a community leadership role in responding to this once-in-a-century public health crisis.

We kept all of our 35 health centers open throughout mid-California and in Reno, Nevada, serving people who relied on us more than ever before.

Within weeks we began providing COVID-testing at our health centers as well as curbside medication pickup at many of our sites, and by spring of 2020 we had opened public COVID-testing sites at the request of officials in several counties. We also launched audio and video telehealth services to care for thousands of patients in their own homes.

Check out this four-minute video to hear personal stories from staff about how we made it happen and how PPMM was there for all of our patients, including new patients who had lost jobs and health insurance during the pandemic.

It was a powerful demonstration of our credo, “Care. No matter what.” And, one year later, it is truly something to celebrate.
