If you have ever thought you’d like to be on the front lines of providing, supporting, and protecting reproductive and sexual health care – especially when these services are threatened across the country – check out the career opportunities at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte.

Not only is PPMM the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the country, but we serve two states, California and Nevada, where abortion rights are strongly protected, and we can provide abortion care to all who need it. That includes those who travel here from states where they no longer have rights over their own bodies since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

“Since Roe was overturned, a lot of people want to help us, and one of the best ways to do that is by sharing PPMM job listings with your personal networks and follow our LinkedIn page,” said Director of Talent Acquisition & Volunteer Services, Mel Stephens. “We’re looking for excellent staff who are inspired by what we do and who we serve.”

Innovative Recruitment Strategies

The talent acquisition team is using innovative ways to reach out to people who want to be part of our mission-driven health care organization that also supports health care staff with valuable clinical mentorships and partnerships with medical and nursing schools.

Check out our “Why I’m Proud to Work at PPMM” video HERE, or at the bottom on this page, featuring staff members in positions ranging from health services specialists (HSS) to health center managers to sex ed health educators to clinicians, and more.

“Inspired to Hired”

It is not unusual for PPMM volunteers, who may start by helping us with sorting files or being patient escorts outside of health centers, to become staff members who love their jobs.

And here are just a few examples of our “Inspired to Hired” staff, who began as volunteers and are now dedicated PPMM team members:

  • Justine E. went from being a patient escort at our Central Valley health centers, to PP Generation Action chapter president on her college campus, to a member of our Volunteer Services staff.
  • Jenna P. began by volunteering in our fundraising Development department, moved to answering calls on our “Facts of Life Line” for sex ed information – and she’s now the director of program impact in our PPMM Education department.
  • Jerry L. started volunteering as a file clerk at one of our Fresno health centers more than a decade ago, and now he’s a center manager at one of our sites.
  • Jerricka H. went from being an intern in our Human Resources department, to being a health services specialist, to being a coordinator on our HR team.
  • Herine P. started as one of our Ambassador Volunteers in the community, to Teen Parent Support Advocate, and she’s now the digital learning producer on our PPMM Education staff.
