Thanks to some recent state-of-the-art updates, security systems across all Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai’i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky health centers adhere to one consistent standard, and alerts are able to be cross-communicated from any health center within the affiliate.

Updates to Indiana and Kentucky health centers included CCTV cameras, remote access control, and alarm system.

“All PPGNHAIK health centers now have state of the art alarm systems,” said George Collins, PPGNHAIK Security and Safety Director. “The new systems utilize the same communications technology across all six states, so we can coordinate quickly.”

“These updates were necessary to provide the safest environment for all our patients and staff,” said Collins.

Collins noted that having the right technology only makes up part of the equation.

“The most important safety feature is having a well-trained staff, so they can make the correct decisions in crucial moments,” he stated.

Collins took a moment to praise health center staff, especially those at Merrillville, Bloomington, Louisville, Everett, and Tacoma, where protest activity is on the rise.

“Training is always ongoing with our staff, so they can handle these stressful situations,” he said. “That’s our continuous investment in security.”
