Our beautiful new Corona health center had its official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony this past weekend!

A handful of elected officials, community members, and our board of directors were on hand to help celebrate.

Corona Center Manager, Elizabeth, said: “We have been open since late March and I have seen firsthand the tremendous impact we have had on this community. We are providing our patients with much needed access and services.”

Together with Elizabeth, the staff provided guided tours for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest board members and guests.

We’d heard from area community members how important it is that we have a presence in Corona, in that the area lacks medical providers — in addition to easy access to the providers in nearby Riverside.

The City of Riverside and Moreno Valley are theoretically close, but far when you consider the build up of traffic in this area. Our new Corona location makes health care far more accessible for that community.

Elizabeth and the Corona staff are proud to be a visible presence there. They’ve received a great deal of feedback from patients on how much their presence is appreciated.

“They say things like: ‘I’m so happy you’re open in Corona now,” and “I don’t have to drive far to another Planned Parenthood,’” Elizabeth said.

In October, the Corona health center will expand to two full-time providers, and will begin providing medication abortion services.

“I’m excited for the future and what is to come,” said Elizabeth.

Thank you to everyone who made the Corona health center possible — and everyone who continues to provide the highest standard of care to our Corona community, every day.
