Planned Parenthood has been a fixture in Mira Mesa for 25 years. After its expansion this past spring, it’s now at 5,239 square feet — doubling our capacity for care.

“We found such a high amount of unmet demand,” said Chantel, Mira Mesa center manager. “We couldn’t really accept walk-ins before. And now we can accept almost every walk-in."

This is a busy and growing part of San Diego, with much more housing being developed.

In 2018, we had 13,000 patient visits — and our expansion gives us the capacity to see up to 24,000 patients visits annually.

“We went from 2 to 9 patient care rooms! That’s a big difference,” Chantel said. “We also have advanced gynecological services here now."

Just since April, the health center has gone from 2 to 4 providers, and the rest of the staff has doubled as well.

“Last week, we saw 410 patients, whereas in April, we were seeing 230 to 275 per week,” Chantel said.

We’re proud of the state-of-the art design and healing health care environment we’ve created for the community of Mira Mesa.
