What To Expect During Your Appointment

Plan to be at the health center for 2-4 hour(s) for your entire visit.

Post-Appointment Information

We'll follow up with you, if you’d like, within 1-2 week(s) to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well.

In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, you may need another dose of medicine or to have an in-clinic abortion to end the pregnancy.

We’ll also give you after-care instructions and a phone number you can call with any questions or concerns.

Abortion Procedure / In-Clinic Abortion

Availability

In-clinic abortion (also known as surgical abortion) is offered up to 13 weeks and 6 days after the first day of your last menstrual period.

If your last period started more than 13 weeks and 6 days ago, we can help connect you to other abortion options in your area.

In-clinic abortions are available by appointment only.

Preparing For Your Appointment

If you have asthma, bring an inhaler if you have one.

If you desire medication to help make your in-clinic abortion more comfortable, you must have a responsible companion with you to help you get home safely.

There may be additional charges for lab and blood work.

Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been made.

What To Expect During Your Appointment

Plan to be at the health center for 3-5 hour(s) for your entire visit for an in-clinic abortion.

When you choose an abortion service at our health center, you may also receive the following: pregnancy test pregnancy dating (ultrasound)

At times there may be protesters outside of the health center. We suggest you avoid interaction with them.

Please do not bring children to the health center.

You will need to return in 0 weeks and 0 days to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well.

NC Requirements

There is no waiting period. Minors must come with a parent or legal guardian who will also consent to the procedure. This person must stay until ultrasound is done AND participate in the Informed Consent Session to sign procedure specific consent forms. We must have a photo ID WITH DATE OF BIRTH for the parent, a current photo ID WITH DATE OF BIRTH for the minor, and a Birth Certificate or other legal document that states that the person accompanying the minor is legally allowed to consent to the procedure. If the minor has a school ID without a date of birth, we request a school transcript that documents her birth date. If a minor is calling to schedule the appointment herself, we require her to have her parent contact us to be told this information. Photo ID of minor is subject to review. If a minor does not have any photo ID, then it must be obtained from the DMV.



Obtaining a North Carolina Identification Card: Any resident of North Carolina can be issued a special identification card provided he or she does not have a valid driver's license. The cost for an ID is $10



Minors may contact their Clerk of Court and obtain a judicial bypass if they are unable to obtain parental consent OR they MUST do this if they are unable to provide all of the necessary documentation at the time of the appointment.

Please note that on Fridays we only provide Abortion services during the following hours: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM. 

Please be advised that this health center is closed on the 4th Friday of every month.
