Did you know that one in five women in the U.S. have turned to Planned Parenthood at some time in their lives for professional, non-judgmental and confidential care?
Here in Nassau County, more than 13,200 people turn to our health centers in Hempstead, Glen Cove and Massapequa for life-saving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention and treatment of STDs, breast health services, pap tests, sexual health education, information and counseling. In addition, PPNC provides over 35,000 educational opportunities and experiences through comprehensive sexuality education, evidence-based workshops and street outreach, helping inform young people on how to make smart, well-informed and safe choices. More than 70 percent of our patients rely on us for some form of subsidized care, and the majority of our education workshops are offered free of charge.
We also work actively across Long Island to engage and mobilize community members in support of women's health and rights.
