Community Programs & Workshops

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York provides a wide variety of community programs and workshops across New York state. Learn more about our programs and how you can get involved.

Adult Role Models

Adult Role Models lead workshops for parents and other caring adults on how to talk with their children about sexuality. The workshop series can be held wherever parents gather — at schools, community organizations, houses of worship, and beyond. The Adult Role Models workshops are fun, interactive, and free of charge. To schedule a workshop, please email us by following the link below.

HIV Prevention Program, Workshops & Services

The HIV Prevention Program seeks to reduce the risk and incidence of HIV/STD/HCV infections in Nassau County communities, ensuring access to the information, preventive services and treatment needed to lead healthy lives. Contact us for more information about upcoming workshops or linkage to testing.

Out for Health

Through weekly youth groups, school and community programming, professional development training, technical assistance, and advocacy, Out for Health works to remove barriers, increase access, and create a community in which health and wellness are an accessible norm for LGBTQ people.

Pop-Ups

Pop-Ups are fun FREE events led by Planned Parenthood’s sexuality educators who engage youth aged 11-21 in games and other interactive activities to learn about sexual and reproductive health. Schools, religious organizations, and other community groups can contact us for more information.

Project SHINE

Project SHINE envisions a world where youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities have equitable access to high-quality information and affordable health care, with supportive laws and policies that ensure the greatest autonomy and informed sexual well-being possible across the lifespan.

Project STIQ

Project STIQ partners with schools and community-based organizations in North Corona, East Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights to deliver programming for youth, families, and professionals within Queens Community District 3.

Project Street Beat

Project Street Beat provides confidential, nonjudgmental health care, counseling and support to adults and young people in NYC and Nassau County. We meet you where you are, no matter what.

Promotores de Salud

The Promotores de Salud aim to increase access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for Spanish-dominant Latinxs in New York. Contact us to learn more.

Reviving Radical

Reproductive oppression has and continues to disproportionately affect women of color, trans and non-binary people, the working class, and poor communities. Reviving Radical is a framework with an initial three-year commitment to engaging community dialogue and uplifting a vision for repair and transformation that communities of color and reproductive justice leaders have been calling on for decades.

Sex Education for Adults

Sex Education for Adults connects adult New Yorkers to sexual and reproductive health information and care by offering workshops, appointment making support, and trainings for staff at interested organizations. This program is available at no cost to various organizations in New York City, such as senior centers, shelters, support groups, college campuses, rehabilitation facilities, and community health centers.  To learn more or schedule a workshop, email us by following the link below.
