Welcome
A note from our Interim CEO Joy D. Calloway
I’m so glad that you are here to explore the positions we have open at Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY)! I’m new to PPGNY too—I joined the organization in October, 2020 as Interim CEO, and I’m so thrilled to guide this incredible organization at this time of immense change and opportunity.
In my short time here, I’ve already learned so much about the incredible work that our staff does every day, and what it means to the communities we serve. I have seen how deeply our staff members care about this organization, its purpose, and its success. I can also see the challenges we face, both internally and externally, brought on by the devastating COVID pandemic, trauma caused by centuries of systemic racism boiling over, and questions about our culture and values as a PPGNY team, as a state, and as a nation. I am a firm believer that with every challenge comes opportunity, and this moment in time is an excellent opportunity for you to join our team and help shape the future of health care in New York.
We at PPGNY are deeply committed to working together to tackle the challenges we face and to building an even better, stronger organization. An organization where staff and community members of all identities are valued and positioned for success, where communication is open and honest—yet respectful and compassionate—and where we are all accountable to each other and to the communities we serve. As we usher PPGNY into its next chapter, we are looking for passionate, dedicated people who are eager to make positive contributions to their community and to our mission, who know how to work smart and are willing to work hard, and who are prepared to advance racial equity work at all levels of our organization.
If this sounds like you, I am glad you've found PPGNY; I hope you will apply today for one of our open positions, every single one of which is critical in fulfilling our mission.
In community,
Joy D. Calloway
