Envision a world without barriers -- where freedom and dignity are accepted as fundamental human rights -- a world where caring connects us all. Since 1934, Planned Parenthood has been a steady and trusted presence in the mid-Hudson Valley striving for these goals.
Our five medical centers, located throughout Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties, provide a wide range of comprehensive sexual health services to more than 40,000 people annually. We focus on prevention -- the prevention of unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, cancer and other illnesses - and our medical staff works closely with clients to find affordable, safe and effective options.
Our Education & Outreach Department offers programs throughout the mid-Hudson Valley, as well as specialized training for professionals, parents and their children, peer educators, clergy and other health care professionals. Our team of innovative educators reaches over 20,000 people annually with accurate information and relevant strategies for making healthy choices about sexuality.
Our Development Department -- with the support of volunteers who are passionate about protecting choice and providing essential reproductive health care to women, men and youth of the mid-Hudson Valley -- raises funds to support PPMHV's ever-expanding work, and promotes public policies that safeguard the rights of individuals to freely make private, responsible choices. Our advocacy efforts reach across the spectrum of pro-choice supporters -- young and old, veterans of our cause and new activists -- to make PPMHV a visible and powerful agent for change at the local, state and national levels.
