Planned Parenthood Arizona Stands with #BlackLivesMatter

Planned Parenthood has been advocating for progressive social change since our founding over a century ago.  We remain committed to creating change, acknowledging that we too must look inward and examine our own organizational role on the present and historical impacts of Systemic Racism that has harmed Black lives.

We stand with Black people and communities around the country in outrage and protest against police brutality, and state- sanctioned violence, following the recent killings of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Dion Johnson, and too many others.

We at Planned Parenthood believe White Supremacy and Systemic Racism have no place in our society and to dismantle it we commit to addressing and correcting implicit bias within our organization so we can improve our delivery of health care and education for all people. This work cannot be a byproduct of our “day job.”  It must be front and center to every decision we make, every program we develop, every partnership we cultivate.

With that we unapologetically commit to supporting and making space for the Black organizations and leaders already at the forefront of this fight. We will follow their lead.
