Preparing for Your Visit

To ensure the best experience possible we have provided a list of instructions to help you prepare for your visit. Instructions for Your Visit

  1. We ask that you do not bring children with you to your appointment - for their safety, children cannot go into the back office. 
  2. Masks are still required for staff and patients in PPAZ health centers when Community Transmission levels of COVID are high. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided at the reception desk.  Currently, COVID levels are high in Coconino and Maricopa counties, but masks are not required in Pima County. Patients have the right to ask medical staff to wear a mask.
  3. Support persons are invited to accompany a patient through certain portions of the patient visit at the discretion of the Health Center Manager and if clinic flow/capacity allows. Support persons will be asked to exit the clinic for any inappropriate or aggressive behavior.

  4. Cell phones may not be used during certain clinical care portions of visit.
  5. We encourage patients to pre-register for their upcoming appointment on MyChart, our patient portal. MyChart allows you to upload your insurance information for verification prior to your visit and will ensure that your provider accepts your insurance. 
  6. If you are not registered for MYCHART, we recommend that you call 855-207-7526 prior to your appointment to ensure that the Provider you are scheduled to see is contracted with your insurance. If not, our call center can reschedule you to see another provider at a nearby Health Center or make an appointment for you with a different provider who does accept your insurance at the same health center on a different day or time. 
  7. Please note that if your scheduled provider is ill or not able to come in on the day of your appointment, another provider will be assigned for that day, with little notice. So, calling our call center on the day of your appointment is another way to ensure that the provider that will be seeing you is contracted with your insurance.     


If you are considering taking PrEP?

Do your research. Seek out information that will help you make a decision and have an informative conversation with your health care provider. It may also be helpful to make a list of questions for your health care provider, as well as the reasons why you think PrEP would be right for you. Some questions you might ask yourself and/or provider are:

  • Would PrEP be a good option for me?
  • How much would PrEP lower my risk of HIV infection?
  • What else can I do to lower my risk of HIV infection?
  • Will the daily pill work for my routine?
  • Can I get help paying for PrEP?
  • How often will I be tested for HIV and other STDs?
  • Will you prescribe and manage PrEP for me?

Your Payment Options


Payment is expected at the time of service (cash, credit card, or money order; no personal checks, please). If you are using a credit card, you will need to provide photo ID.  If you plan to pay for your visit with a card that is not your own, the card owner must be there with you and must also be prepared to present their photo ID.


Insurance Plans

Accepted insurance plans may differ depending on the health center location you choose for your visit. Please visit our Health Center Locations page and click on the specific location you will be visiting for a complete list of accepted insurance plans, or call to speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives.

If you plan on using insurance, you must bring in your insurance card and photo ID in order for us to bill your insurance. We will verify your coverage at every visit. Co-pays and deductible amounts are due at time of service.

If you do not have insurance, you may be able to receive coverage in the health care marketplace under the Affordable Care Act.
