Planned Parenthood Arizona, Inc. has received a grant totaling $100,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust to help cover the costs of increased expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Planned Parenthood has been providing access to sexual and reproductive health care in Arizona for over 80 years and this grant will help us to continue to provide these vital services, despite recent negative impacts due to the pandemic” said Samantha Pullen, Planned Parenthood Arizona Interim President & CEO. “While we have seen costs increase over the past 15 months due to the need for Personal Protective Equipment for our health center staff, we have also seen visits to our health centers decrease, a trend that is slowly but surely improving. Assistance from many donors and foundations, including the Pulliam Trust, are helping us weather the storm and move ahead, stronger than ever.”

“This support for the Patient Care Fund will aid in providing essential health care for young patients who might otherwise forego treatment because of financial barriers,” said President and CEO Gene D’Adamo, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. “We appreciate the service Planned Parenthood is providing to our communities that are particularly hard hit by the pandemic’s impacts.”

Since the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust began its grant making in 1998, it has awarded more than $340 million to 1,003 nonprofit organizations in its home states of Arizona and Indiana. For more information about the Trust and its programs visit www.ninapulliamtrust.org.
