Abortion in Detroit, MI
We offer the following abortion services:
Availability: The abortion pill (also known as a medication abortion) is offered up to 11 weeks after the start of your last menstrual period.
If your last period was more than 11 weeks ago, we can still help. Call us for a referral list of health care providers in your area that offer other abortion services.
Abortion pill (medication abortion) services are available by appointment only.
Plan to be at the health center for 2-4 hour(s) for your entire visit.
We'll follow up with you, if you'd like, within 1-2 weeks to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well. In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, you may need another dose of medication or to have an in-clinic abortion to end the pregnancy.
Michigan law requires that you sign a consent form at least 24 hours prior to receiving an abortion. Please see the link below for more information on Michigan's Informed Consent for Abortion Law and access to the required consent form.
If you are under the age of 18 and need help talking with your parents or seeking judicial bypass we can help.
Please contact this health center for abortion services pricing information.
Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have previously been made.
Abortion services may be covered by your insurance. If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to bring in your insurance information at the time of your visit.
Additional Abortion Support
Before your abortion, our expert and caring staff will discuss all of your pregnancy options with you to help you make sure abortion is the best decision for you. We’ll also talk with you about your health history to make sure we’re providing the best care for you.
To schedule getting the abortion pill via telehealth (without visiting a health center), please call 800-230-7526 as online scheduling for this service is not currently available.
Your medication abortion appointment will be like any other appointment, except that, when it is time, you may connect with a provider by a secure videoconference for a face-to-face visit where s/he will prescribe the appropriate medications, if it is appropriate to do so.
After a medication abortion, you will need to follow up within 5-7 days to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well. In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, you may need another dose of medication or to have an in-clinic abortion to end the pregnancy.
