We’re expanding our abortion services to better serve Texans and anyone traveling to us from out-of-state.

As many of you already know, on September 1st Texas implemented S.B. 8, a vicious law that restricts nearly all abortion access. So this means the abortion services we provide at Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) are more important than ever.

The day after the law went into effect, we immediately had people from Texas and out-of-state calling us for their abortion procedure. We're in this fight alongside Texans, and our team has sprung into action to ensure every person who walks through our doors gets the care they deserve.

Our health centers are now equipped to support seeing out-of-state patients. When someone from outside California reaches out to us for an abortion, we can identify them and connect them to a patient navigator who will support and advocate for the patient throughout the entire process. We're also partnering with external organizations to make sure patients who need financial assistance with travel, housing, or other support have access to the resources they need. We know that for our patients, abortion access is essential health care, so we're doing everything we can to support them.

Last week we heard some good news that the U.S. Department of Justice is taking legal action, but this doesn't change the fact that people in Texas still don't have access to abortion services. Action will take time, so we need to stay vigilant until S.B. 8, or any laws like it, are struck down. Here's how you can help now:

  • "March" with us. In coalition with the Women’s March, on Saturday, October 2nd at 9:30 a.m., we’re joining forces with numerous community partners to hold a caravan through the streets of Pasadena. Join us by openly and boldly declaring our commitment to protecting and expanding abortion rights in our state and nation. Click here for details and to sign up to attend.
  • Work with us. Join us in this fight to expand abortion access by applying to work alongside our incredible staff or encouraging a friend to apply. Check out the positions we're hiring for at our health centers and administrative office at pppsgv.org.
  • Donate. Abortion access is under attack, and we need your help to expand our services. This means hiring and training staff, buying new equipment and more. Please consider donating to us to help sustain the essential health care PPPSGV offers our community.

I appreciate all of you who have already reached out to ask how you can help. Your support is invaluable and appreciated.

In This Together,

Sheri
