Why Every Election Matters
Every four years, we as a country elect a President to lead us for the next four years, Presidential elections are important because the President sets the vision and direction of our country.
However, equally – if not more – important are all the statewide and local races that take place between presidential elections.
Our local governments have the greatest impact on our day-to-day lives, our neighborhoods, and our communities. They affect things like schools, parks, roads, libraries, and so much more. Local elected officials are responsible for maintaining and managing local infrastructure, education reform, housing services, and police and fire departments. And, many local offices are non-partisan.
By electing local leaders that share our vision we can improve outcomes for all, and create policies that address the unique needs and conditions for everyone in our communities.
These local officials are being elected every year with little citizen involvement. That’s why every election matters. It matters to you, your child/ren, your family, and your friends.
