Planned Parenthood of New York City offers state-of-the-art training programs to ensure that professionals — medical practitioners, educators, social workers, and others — can provide the highest quality care. We also offer numerous educational programs to bring reproductive and sexual health information directly to young people and the adults most closely connected with them. Trainings for Professionals
Our Sexual & Reproductive Health Training Calendar describes the 25-30 trainings we offer annually at our Training Institute and the customized on-site trainings we can conduct in other settings.
Through our Clinical Training and Research Initiative (CTRI), PPNYC addresses the critical shortage of medical professionals who have the skills and commitment to provide reproductive health care.
We offer trainings on Public Insurance and Reproductive Health Care for family planning providers, managed care plans, community health organizations, and city and state agencies.
And we provide Capacity-Building Assistance to Organizations.

“Taking Care of You” workshops for young people help participants to learn and practice critical skills for communication and decision making.
Youth Health Promoters workshops are engaging interactive presentations made by PPNYC’s teenaged peer educators to inform their fellow teens about their rights and access to sexual and reproductive health care.
Evidence-Based Programs are designed to reduce rates of sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy among youth aged 11-21.
Adult Role Model workshops are conducted by community members who have been trained by PPNYC to teach fellow parents and caregivers how to talk knowledgeably and comfortably with their children about sex.
Sex Education in Schools
PPNYC provides workshops and trainings to the public schools for students, educators, and parents, and also advocates for legislation and funding to promote comprehensive sex education.
