Please know that on May 25, 2022, Oklahoma enacted H.B. 4327 - the most restrictive abortion ban in the country. As a result, PPGP is not currently providing surgical or medical abortion procedures in Oklahoma.

We want patients and supporters to know this: we are here for you with information, resources, and services. To speak with a member of our team regarding your options for care, please call your local health center or 1-800-230-PLAN.

We are still scheduling, offering patient navigation services, and providing surgical and medical abortion procedures in other states.

Oklahoma’s H.B. 4327 is the most extreme and cruel abortion ban in the country. It bars abortion after fertilization, only making exceptions for immediate physical emergencies, or cases of rape or incest that have previously been reported to police.

Planned Parenthood and other Oklahoma organizations value your physical and mental health. We recognize and respect your right to privacy and to essential health care.

Lastly, know we remain as committed as ever to protecting your access to abortion. We will promptly contest H.B. 4327 in Oklahoma courts by amending a challenge we’ve already filed against S.B. 1503 on April 29, 2022. Please watch this site, and follow us on social media for additional updates.

Below is an update on recent bills and what they mean for abortion care in your service area (updated on May 25, 2022):

  • House Bill 4327: Total Abortion Ban (signed into law on May 25, 2022)
    • Like the already-signed S.B. 612 (below), this bill is another total abortion ban
    • Unlike S.B. 612, this ban will take effect immediately upon the governor’s signature
    • Unlike SB-612, this ban is privately enforced on a Texas S.B. 8. style, sue-thy-neighbor model
  • Senate Bill 612: Total Abortion Ban (signed into law on April 12, 2022)
    • Will not take effect until August
    • The law makes it a felony to provide an abortion in the state of Oklahoma with one exception, a medical emergency impacting a pregnant person
  • Senate Bill 1503: Six Week Abortion Ban
    • Signed into law and took immediate effect May 3, 2022
    • The bill bans abortion at roughly six weeks, modeled on Texas S.B. 8. with a civil enforcement mechanism

Abortion is time-sensitive, essential health care and Planned Parenthood is still providing care in states where it is legal
