Planned Parenthood Great Plains has provided access to sexual and reproductive health care for all since 1935. The expert and compassionate medical staff at Planned Parenthood Great Plains in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, consists of certified nurse practitioners, licensed physicians, and registered nurses.

Health Services

Planned Parenthood Great Plains offers expert, compassionate sexual and reproductive health services to all individuals — no matter what. We currently provide services in 13 health centers, four of our locations share offices with Comprehensive Health which provides abortion services.

Our health centers are located in ArkansasKansasMissouri, and Oklahoma.

Our History

In 1931, Margret Sanger came to Kansas City to enlist the community in forming an organization dedicated to family planning. Four years later, what would become Planned Parenthood Great Plains was founded as the Maternal Health League of Kansas City, serving 300 patients in its first year.

Sexual and Reproductive Rights Advocacy

Planned Parenthood is a leading advocate for the sexual and reproductive rights of women and men in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Planned Parenthood Great Plains works everyday to:

  • Maintain professional lobbying programs in Little Rock, Topeka, Jefferson City, and Oklahoma City.
  • Inform supporters about proposed legislation and encourage contact with their legislators.
  • Recruit, train and support volunteers to work in a variety of advocacy roles.
  • Work to block legislation that restricts access to sex education, contraceptives and abortion.
  • Work to pass pro-active legislation to protect the rights of women to access quality, affordable health care. 

Fundraising

The commitment and generosity of our donors allow us to provide health care services to almost 30,000 clients and education programs to 11,000 students and adults annually. Many of our clients rely on us as their only medical provider and source of honest, medically accurate information. Our care is accessible to all who need it, regardless of their ability to pay.

Education

We offer sexuality education in schools and community organizations in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Presentations are designed to give young people and adults information about reproductive health and sexuality to help them make informed decisions about relationships and sexual behaviors.
