PPGP in Missouri

Planned Parenthood Great Plains locations in Missouri offer a wide range of sexual and reproductive health care including pregnancy testing, gender-affirming care services, PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), menopausal symptom management, as well as other sexual and reproductive health care like annual exams, STI testing and treatment, and emergency contraception. Additionally, we provide all-options, non-directive pregnancy counseling.    

Update on Abortion Access in Missouri

On November 5, 2024, Missourians made history by voting to reestablish abortion access in our state, becoming the first state to do so since the fall of Roe v. Wade. This victory not only restores essential care in Missouri but also expands access for patients in surrounding states who have faced limited or no options. 

Abortion services initially resumed on February 15, 2025. Following a recent court ruling, services were briefly paused, but we’re proud to share that access has resumed once again, and we’re continuing to move forward. 

As of July 3, Comprehensive Health of Planned Parenthood Great Plains (CHPPGP) is providing procedural abortion services up to 12 weeks at our Midtown KC health center. Appointment availability at our Columbia location will be announced soon. 

Medication abortion is not currently available in Missouri.

Online scheduling for abortion services in Missouri is not currently available. Patients must call 913-345-1400 to schedule an appointment. 

August 28, 2023: Update on Gender-Affirming Care Access in Missouri

First and foremost, gender-affirming care is still available at PPGP's Missouri health centers for (18+ patients). Due to a new Missouri law which took effect August 28, 2023, Missouri’s Medicaid program will no longer cover the cost of gender-affirming care services, including puberty blockers or hormone therapy. PPGP is no longer able to accept MO HealthNet for gender-affirming care. If you are a current MO HealthNet patient receiving gender-affirming care from a PPGP health center, you will need an alternate source of payment to continue receiving services. If you need financial assistance, please contact us and we may be able to assist you.
