Walk-in Information

Free pregnancy tests by walk-in or appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30am - 11:30am and 1:00pm - 3:30pm. Free walk-in pregnancy testing is also often available one Wednesday per month, but not on Saturdays. Upcoming Wednesdays will be listed here if they are scheduled.

Emergency contraception pills (EContra EZ, a generic equivalent of Plan B One Step) are available for sale, without prescription, Monday-Saturday, during this health center’s regular hours until 30 minutes before closing time. For the other types of emergency contraception (ella and Paragard IUD), an appointment is required. Every attempt will be made to accommodate you in a same-day appointment. Further information

Birth control refill pick-ups (for PPNYC patients only) available Monday - Saturday, during this health center's regular hours. On days of pre-holiday early closure at 1 pm, refill pick-up is available until 1:00 pm.

All other services require an appointment. All other services require an appointment. Although you need an appointment, you can get birth control, STD testing, and testing/treatment for urinary tract infections without having a medical exam.

This health center offers vasectomy, a safe and effective form of permanent birth control for men.

We offer quality, compassionate hormone therapy to our transgender and gender nonconforming patients using an Informed Consent Model.

This health center offers PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), a daily pill that individuals at increased risk for HIV can take to prevent HIV infection. Get tested and ask about it!

If you need emergency contraception (morning after pill), you can walk in any time the health center is open.

Notes

On Tuesday, March 14, we will be closed in the morning and will open at 1pm. We will be closed on the following Saturdays: May 27, September 2, November 25, and December 23. We will be closed on the following Tuesdays: April 11, June 13, August 8, October 3, and December 12. Please also see "Holidays" further down this page for additional days when we will be closed.

We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.

Payment Information

If you are uninsured, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale.

We accept the following forms of payment:

  • As payment, we accept cash, checks, money orders, major credit cards, and most health insurance plans, including Medicaid. For those who do not have insurance, on-site screening is available for health insurance (including the Medicaid Family Planning Benefit Program) and sliding-scale fees.

Most health insurance plans now cover prescription birth control, annual wellness exams, and HIV and STI screenings with no copay, and many other services with some copay required.
