Walk-in Information

If you need emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill), you can walk in anytime we’re open.

Free pregnancy tests by walk-in or appointment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30am - 11:30am and 1:00pm - 3:30pm. Free walk-in pregnancy testing is also often available one Wednesday per month, but not on Saturdays. Upcoming Wednesdays will be listed here if they are scheduled.

Emergency contraception pills (EContra EZ, a generic equivalent of Plan B One Step) are available for sale, without prescription, Monday-Saturday, during this health center’s regular hours until 30 minutes before closing time. For the other types of emergency contraception (ella and Paragard IUD), an appointment is required. Every attempt will be made to accommodate you in a same-day appointment. Further information

Birth control refill pick-ups (for PPNYC patients only) available Monday - Saturday, during this health center's regular hours. On days of pre-holiday early closure at 1 pm, refill pick-up is available until 1:00 pm.

This health center also offers PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), an emergency medicine you can take to prevent HIV if you may have been exposed in the last 3 days.

More About This Health Center

We will be closed on the following Saturdays: February 17, May 26, September 1, and November 24. We will be closed on the following Tuesdays: February 13, May 8, July 17, September 11, and November 13. We will close at noon on the following Tuesdays: March 13, April 10, June 12, August 7, and October 16. Please also see "Holidays" higher up this page for additional days when we will be closed.
 
Not all services are available right up to closing time. Please read carefully the times in "Walk-in Information” above.

With an appointment: This health center offers vasectomy, a safe and effective form of permanent birth control for men.

With an appointment: We offer quality, compassionate hormone therapy to our transgender and gender nonconforming patients using an Informed Consent Model.

With an appointment: This health center offers PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), a daily pill that individuals at increased risk for HIV can take to prevent HIV infection. Get tested and ask about it!

Payment Options

Most health insurance plans now cover prescription birth control, annual wellness exams, and HIV and STD screenings with no copay, and many other services with some copay required. Contact your health insurance company directly to confirm that the services you need are covered and what, if any, out of pocket costs you are required to pay.

We accept:

  • As payment, we accept cash, checks, money orders, major credit cards, and most health insurance plans, including Medicaid. For those who do not have insurance, on-site screening is available for health insurance (including the Medicaid Family Planning Benefit Program) and sliding-scale fees.

More Appointment Information

We’re unable to provide childcare at our health center. For safety reasons children need to be accompanied by an adult when they’re in the waiting room. Only infants can accompany you to the exam room. Please bring a friend or family member to be with your children if you don’t have childcare at home.
