Information for Teens
The teen years can be great but also confusing and complex. There are great resources for teens on our website and in the community to help you navigate the teen years successfully. Don't forget: your parents can be a great resource, too.
In Georgia, teens may access reproductive health care services, like birth control, without parental permission.
In Alabama any minor who is 14 years of age or older, or has graduated from high school, or is married, or having been married is divorced or is pregnant may give effective consent to any legally authorized medical, dental, health or mental health services for himself or herself, and the consent of no other person shall be necessary.
At Planned Parenthood, we encourage young people to involve a parent or other trusted adult in health care decision making and can offer you some tips on making that conversation easier. Our services are completely confidential.
