Statement from Lillian Tamayo, President and CEO, Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida:
“These protests are designed to shame patients who seek basic health care services from Planned Parenthood, including thousands of Floridians, and aims to intimidate the health care professionals who work here. Women should be able to get health care without fear of violence, harassment, or intimidation.
We are here for our patients. For the women, men, and young people we serve, the care we provide isn’t about politics – it’s about their well-being, and we remain focused on ensuring our patients are able to access the health care we provide in a safe and caring environment.”
Planned Parenthood health centers in Tallahassee, Martin and Kendall are closed Saturday, February 11, 2017 under normal hours of operation. Planned Parenthood health centers in Pembroke Pines and Boca Raton will remain open and operating under a normal schedule.
We are in a moment of tremendous grassroots activism. This Saturday, Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida is holding ‘Day of Action’ events in Leon, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties to support reproductive justice.
