While Pride may be celebrated just in June, at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC), we believe that everyone should have access to compassionate health care and inclusive education. We are proud to be a safe space for all gender identities and relationships, and are constantly working to expand the services we can provide the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.
Healthcare is at the core of everything we do, and the services we provide will always reflect the diverse communities and individuals we serve.
HIV/STI Testing and Treatment Services
Our caring and non-judgmental staff are here to provide comprehensive STI testing and treatment to help you stay healthy. In addition, our health centers also offer services to help prevent HIV, treat HIV, and support HIV positive individuals and their partners. Our services are available to all that need it, regardless of their sex or gender identity.
Gender Affirming Care Services
For those seeking gender affirming care, Melody Health, our primary care provider is here to help. We have a case manager solely dedicated to these services to assist recipients in navigating the challenges of Medi-Cal to helping them schedule visits for hormonal therapy. To better accommodate the needs of our patients, our Melody Health providers are all currently under-going training to become Gender Affirming Care providers by Fall 2022. Our team can also refer patients for other services as needed.
If you would like to schedule a visit with one of our providers please contact our Call Center at (714) 922-4100 for Orange County, and (909) 890-5511 for San Bernardino County.
Community Education
While our health centers are a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, that safe space shouldn’t be confined to just our four walls. Our Community Education team works extensively to provide education for not just youths, but professionals as well. Their Gender Inclusivity class is specifically for professionals who work with youth, and provides a detailed overview of gender, identity, expression, and what it means to be gender inclusive. This class will also share examples of how one can create a safe and respectful environment for people of all genders.
Visit PPOSBC.org/BetterThanSexEd to register for this class’s next virtual session on June 15.
No matter your sexual orientation or gender identity you are always welcome at Planned Parenthood and Melody Health. Comprehensive care also does not stop at your health. If you are seeking additional social support, help-lines, or legal resources, check out one of our trusted community partners in our Community Resource Guides for Orange County and San Bernardino County.
