This unique Home Talk is designed for parents of students in 8th grade or above.  Co-facilitated by our expert Parent Educators and members of the Get Real Teen Council (our high school sexual health peer education program,) this workshop is the perfect opportunity for parents to learn more about effectively communicating with their older teens from teens themselves.

The featured topic is Protection Methods, with a focus on the various options and how they work.  Join us to hone-up on your protection methods facts and discuss strategies and ideas for increasing communication about this important topic.  Who better to support this learning and practice in a safe and judgment-free way than young people themselves?!

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify one fact that they can share with their child about protection methods
  • Identify one strategy they can use to communicate about sexual health with their child
  • Explain the value in communicating openly and honestly about sexual health with their child

Interested hosts will invite friends to their home to attend this unique educational experience!  As always, each participant will receive resources and a complimentary book.  And, we will supply a flyer that the host can use to promote it to their friends.

Let us know if this is something that sounds interesting to you!  You can contact one of us directly at either Amy Cody, Manager of Parent Education ([email protected]) or Shira Cahn-Lipman, Manager of Youth and Professional Education ([email protected])

Thanks so much,

The Parent and Youth Education teams
