Please see below for detailed information about the research study. Participation in the study involves completion of an online survey about contraception, which will take 5-10 minutes total.  Your answers to the survey are anonymous.  The link to begin the survey is at the bottom of this webpage.  After completion of the survey, you will have the option to provide your name and phone number separately and to enroll in a raffle to win a $250 prize. By clicking on the link to the survey below, you are agreeing to participate in the research study. 

 


Research Study: 

Targeted video messaging about emergency contraception via a social media platform 

Why is this research being done?

The purpose is to learn more about the impact of using different types of educational content to educate women about emergency contraception and the impact of using social media to raise awareness. 

What will happen in this research study?

If you agree, you will complete an online anonymous survey, which will take 5-10 minutes to complete.  Participation is voluntary and you may stop the survey at any time.

What are the possible risks of participating in this study?

Some of the questions on the survey are of a sensitive nature.  You may feel uncomfortable or embarrassed when answering certain questions.  You may choose not to answer any question that you would prefer not to answer.  You may also stop the survey at any time.  Neither your name nor any identifying information will be included on the survey, so your answers will not be linked to you once the study is complete.  

What are the benefits of participating in this study?

You may learn information about emergency birth control that could benefit you one day.  Otherwise, there may be no direct benefit to you from participating in this study.  We hope that what we learn from the study will help us deliver educational information about emergency birth control to women effectively using social media.  

You will have the option to enroll in a raffle and win a $250 prize. The winner will be chosen once the study is complete and will be contacted via phone; the prize will be sent via check.. The information collected about you, if you choose to enroll in the raffle, will include your name and phone number, and will be collected separately from your survey responses.  Your identifying information will not be linked to the information you provide on the survey.

Will it cost me anything to participate in this study?

No, there will be no cost to you to participate in this study. 

Who is doing this study?

This study is being conducted by researchers Dr. Alisa Goldberg and Dr. Jessica Kuperstock at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, and is funded by the Society of Family Planning Research Fund.
