I can't masturbate without some sort of outside sensory input - like porn or even asmr. My friends say this is normal, but all the research I've done online says I'm addicted to porn. Is this realy normal?
It’s totally normal for adults to watch porn or ASMR (feelings and sensations some people feel in response to a specific gentle sound) to make themselves aroused or “turned on” before masturbation or sex. It’s only a problem if it happens so often that it gets in the way of going to school, work, hanging out with your friends and family, and doing other activities you like.
Exploring your body and learning how to give yourself sexual pleasure can be empowering and can help improve your body image. But it’s important to know the differences between what you see, hear, or read about in porn and what happens in real life. Learn more about porn and masturbation.
