does excessive masturbation or playing with toys lead to delayed periods?
No. Masturbating or using sex toys won’t change your menstrual cycle. Masturbation is a really great way to get to know your body, and is the safest kind of sex you can have! Masturbation can’t cause pregnancy or spread STDs, as long as you make sure to clean any toys you use with soap and water before and after you use them.
Some people masturbate to ease menstrual cramps and muscle tension before, during, and after their periods.
There are some things that can change your menstrual cycle, including birth control, extreme diet changes, extreme exercising, and, of course, pregnancy. If you’ve recently had unprotected sex, a missed period is usually the first sign of pregnancy.
