Am I eligible to get the abortion pill through PPDirect?

You can get a medication abortion through PPDirect if:

  • You have an Illinois address, and
  • You are up to 10 weeks pregnant (The abortion pill is a safe and effective way to end a pregnancy of up to 11 weeks. This PPDirect service is only offered up to 10 weeks to make sure that you get the medication in time. See FAQs here for more details on shipping timelines.)

How much does it cost?

A medication abortion through the PPDirect app in Illinois costs less than getting an abortion at a health center. The cost of the abortion pill through the PPDirect app in Illinois is $200 and is self-pay only. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. This cost includes the prescription kit, overnight shipping, and access to a dedicated support line.

How does it work?

Requesting the abortion pill through the PPDirect app takes just a few minutes and three easy steps.

  1. Request the abortion pill

    After downloading the app and creating an account, confirm that you are currently located in Illinois and answer a few health questions. Then provide your payment information and submit your request.
     
  2. Clinical review

    A Planned Parenthood provider will review the information you submitted and get back to you within 1 business day. They may message you if they have additional questions.
     
  3. Get the abortion pill

    If eligible, your medicine will be shipped to your Illinois address within 1–2 business days. No need to worry about other people knowing your private business — the pills are mailed in discreet packaging that is not marked with Planned Parenthood’s name.

    You will have access to a dedicated support line, and if medically necessary, in-clinic follow-up care is available.
