Abortion Care

PPSO is dedicated to helping women with their
reproductive needs; this includes access to
safe and affordable abortion care.

Patient Privacy: Due to patient privacy laws and policies, appointments can be made by someone other than the patient but changes to existing appointments, cancelling appointments, and requesting medical information must be done by the patient, even if the patient is a minor. You are welcome to bring another person to accompany you to your visit, but please be aware that you will be called back by yourself first. After some brief, confidential medical questions, your guest will be welcome to join you.

Late Policy: If you think you will be later than 10 minutes, please call us at 541-344-9411. Still plan to come to your appointment.

Medication Abortion:

Important: If you are 14 years old or younger, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you and give legal consent for the procedure. Your parent or legal guardian must have a valid photo ID.

General Appointment Information:

  • A medication abortion visit typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours from start to finish.
  • You are welcome to bring an adult support person with you, just be aware that you will be brought back by yourself first.
  • If you have young children at home, we ask that you not bring them with you to this appointment. If that is not an option for you, you are welcome to bring an adult to supervise your children in the lobby.

What to Bring:

  • Photo ID
  • Insurance Information (if applicable)
  • Payment (If applicable)

Surgical Abortion:

Important: If you are 14 years old or younger, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you and give legal consent for the procedure. Your parent or legal guardian must have a valid photo ID.

Sedation Information: If you choose to have minimal sedation for your procedure, you must have an adult to accompany you when you leave. You are not able to drive after taking the sedation medication, so you will need a driver. If you are taking a bus or taxi from your appointment, you will still need an adult to accompany you. The adult who accompanies you home does not need to be present for the visit.

General Appointment Information:

  • A surgical abortion procedure is very quick (about 15 minutes) but you should expect to be at the clinic for 2 to 4 hours for your appointment.
  • You are welcome to bring an adult support person with you, just be aware that you will be brought back by yourself first.
  • If you have young children at home, we ask that you not bring them with you to this appointment. If that is not an option for you, you are welcome to bring an adult to supervise your children in the lobby.
  • If you have an asthma inhaler, please bring it to your appointment.
  • We encourage you to eat before your appointment, even if it just a little something. You are also welcome to bring snacks with you. We have a small selection of snacks available for you during your appointment.

What to Bring:

  • Photo ID
  • Insurance Information (if applicable)
  • Payment (if applicable)
  • Asthma inhaler (if applicable)
  • A driver (if you choose to have sedation)
