Adolescent Health Care Communication Project (AHCCP)

“I think this project is fantastic and very helpful to providers who really want to connect to all of their patients.”

Health providers and teens don’t always speak the same language. That doesn't mean they can't understand each other though!

Planned Parenthood is working to make sure that health care providers have the tools they need to talk with youth about their sexual and reproductive health care needs. The Adolescent Health Care Communication Project (AHCCP) is an innovative, youth-led training for current and future health care providers. With REV youth, AHCCP works by bridging the communication gap and supporting engagement and trust between health care providers and their youth patients. Youth trainers offer accurate, authentic advice and insight about their concerns and preferences related to sexual and reproductive health care.

Trainees walk away from the program with a heightened ability to interact and communicate with young people around sexual health issues.

“Great to have one-on-one experience with actual teens.”
