Trainings for Youth-Serving Professionals 

All Professional Development Trainings aim to promote inclusive, accurate, and empowering sexuality educators and youth-serving professionals in the communities they serve.

They are facilitated by highly trained PPSO Community Educators either in person or virtually on Zoom. 

Individuals or organizations interested in participating in these programs can visit our booking page to schedule a program! Trainings can be booked individually or as a series. 

Trainings Offered 

Sex Ed Boot Camp 

Sex Ed. Boot Camp is a dynamic and engaging virtual conference. Every year, we bring together experts from across the field to provide participants with relevant information on teaching sexuality education to young people. See our SEBC page for more information! 

Circles of Sexuality 

Our Circles of Sexuality presentation introduces sexuality as a broad and lifelong concept. Through engaging activities and open dialogue participants will explore the different aspects of sexuality — identity, sensuality, intimacy, sexual health and reproduction, sexualization - and how their values impact the way they think about and relate to these aspects.

Reframing Messages about Sexuality 

Our Reframing Messages About Sexuality presentation aims to help participants recognize language & approaches that may create barriers to communicating effectively with youth about issues related to sexuality and relationships. Through engaging activities and open dialogue participants will learn how to reframe their language to be youth positive, inclusive, accurate, and empowering.

Answering Challenging Questions

We all know that having conversations about sexuality with young people can be difficult and awkward. Our Answering Challenging Questions presentation teaches participants how to look at questions, think about the intentions behind them, and answer them in a way that honors all values and beliefs.

Youth Rights and Access to Care

Our Youth Rights and Access to Care presentation outlines the laws and policies related to sexuality education and youth sexual health in Oregon. Participants will learn about age of consent laws for sexual activity and health care access for minors.

Birth Control and Sexual Protection

Our Birth Control and Sexual Protection (BC/SP) presentation reviews the most common and accessible BC/SP methods. Through engaging activities and open dialogue students will learn how each method works, where to find reliable information for further learning, and how to access the methods in their community.

Sexually Transmitted Infections

Our Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) presentation reviews the most common sexually transmitted infections. Through engaging activities and open dialogue participants will learn how STIs are transmitted and how to prevent transmission.

Adolescent Health Care Communication Project (AHCCP)

The Adolescent Health Care Communication Project (AHCCP) is an innovative, youth-led training for current and future health care providers. Through collaboration with our REV Youth Leadership Program, AHCCP bridges the communication gap and supports engagement and trust between health care providers and their youth patients.
