Generations of Care: Planned Parenthood of Southern New England Marks Centennial Milestone

Planned Parenthood of Southern New England is celebrating 100 years of service, reflecting on our legacy, and setting our sights to the future. 

In 1923, our founders united with a shared purpose. They recognized the immense potential of empowering women through access to birth control, enabling them to take charge of their bodies and destinies. Now, 100 years later, PPSNE has evolved to encompass 15 health centers across two states, providing a wide range of reproductive and sexual health care services, a team of community educators that reach thousands of teens and adults with vital information on sexual health, relationships and more, and a dedicated advocacy team fighting for all people to have access to sexual and reproductive health care and the right to control their bodies, their lives, and their futures.

As we commemorate our centennial, we look ahead with a refreshed sense of purpose. PPSNE remains committed to providing a full range of compassionate, comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and primary care services to the people of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and to those traveling from out of state to access care, regardless of insurance status, immigration status, gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation. This commitment to serving our patients and our greater community has been our driving force for the past century.
