Benefit event helps support reproductive health care services for more than 78,000 patients
(New Haven, Conn.) – On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) will hold its Annual Spring Luncheon at the Stamford Marriott, 243 Tresser Boulevard, Stamford, Conn. from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m. This year’s event will feature remarks by Brittany Packnett Cunningham, a journalist, podcaster, educator, organizer, and social justice activist once cited by President Barack Obama as a leader whose “voice is going to be making a difference for years to come.”
Brittany Packnett Cunningham is a leader at the intersection of culture and justice recognized for her work as a national NBC News and MSNBC contributor and co-host of the four-time Webby Award-winning podcast Pod Save the People. Known as @mspackyetti on social media, she has been twice named to the Marie Claire list of “50 Most Powerful Women” and was named by TIME magazine as one of the “12 New Faces of Black Leadership.” Cunningham served on the Ferguson Commission, President Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, and she is a member of the Gucci Changemakers Council and Sephora Equity Advisors. She sits on the advisory board for Erase the Hate, NBCUniversal’s Emmy-winning initiative to rid the world of discrimination. Her popular 2019 TED Talk, How to Build Your Confidence—and Spark it to Others has been seen by millions, and she is the author of the upcoming book We Are Like Those Who Dream.

Jane Condon, a Greenwich resident and audience favorite on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, is a long-time supporter, friend, and advocate of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England and will serve as host at the event. Another feature of the Spring Luncheon is the presentation of the Community Impact Award, given annually in recognition of an individual’s commitment to service or social action that makes a difference in their community. The 2020 Community Impact Award recipient is longtime PPSNE supporter, volunteer, and former board president Kay Maxwell of Stamford.
The 2020 Spring Luncheon is led by a volunteer committee co-chaired by Anne Goodnow of Darien and Danielle Eason, Katey Goldberg, Donna Moffly, Sheila Mossman, and Brice Russian of Greenwich. Eason and Mossman are members of the PPSNE Board of Directors and Moffly is a former board member.
All proceeds from the event support the high-quality reproductive health care provided at 17 health centers across Connecticut and Rhode Island. Annually, more than 78,000 patients turn to PPSNE for a range of critical, life-saving health care services, including cancer screenings, annual exams, abortion, birth control, and STD/STI testing and treatment—regardless of their ability to pay.
