Planned Parenthood South Texas is committed to providing volunteers with a rewarding and satisfying experience that offers opportunities for social and intellectual enrichment as well as personal growth.

Volunteers play a vital role in advancing the mission of Planned Parenthood South Texas to provide and protect the health care and information people need to plan their families and their futures.

Volunteers can help staff in operations, fundraising, advocacy, outreach, and other special projects. Take action, make a difference and help others by donating your time and skills!

Apply to become a PPST volunteer by filing out the application in the link below. Please note: PPST's service delivery area includes San Antonio, Harlingen, and Brownsville (and surrounding areas).  To volunteer in other parts of the state, please visit you local Planned Parenthood affiliate.

Volunteer Opportunities

Safety Aide
Provides assistance by helping clients from their vehicles to the health center. The safety aide may be assigned to any or all of the following duties: greet clients, checks or searches bags, physically escorts clients to and from their cars, and maintains visual surveillance of the facility's front parking lot to identify safety or security concerns.

Advocacy
Provides support to the community engagement department on advocacy activities including grass roots organizing, voter registration, letter writing campaigns, media monitoring and media outreach opportunities.

General Office
Provides general clerical support to the various departments in the administrative offices. Duties include but are not limited to answering phones, data entry, and filing.

Fundraising
Provides support for various fundraising events and activities including the patron party and the annual luncheon.

Outreach
Assists with health promotion outreach efforts on topics of family planning, sexual health care, healthy relationships and more. 

We have various one-time or on-call opportunities in most areas and depending on need, there may be a waiting period before volunteers are placed.  Please know we will move through the process as quickly as possible and are very grateful for your interest in volunteering with PPST!
