Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains proudly provides inclusive health services to the LGBTQ community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex patients. All of our services are confidential, professional and respectful.
Our Denver Central health center offers specific services for our transgender clients. These services include hormone therapy.
If you decide to visit us for our transgender health services, please make an appointment. When you call to make your appointment, make sure you tell us that you want transgender health services. Before your visit, we need a letter from your current mental health provider who knows your personal history. We also need copies of your medical records.
We want to know your preferred name and pronoun. We will try to use your preferred name and pronoun at all times. If we make a mistake, please remind us. Our goal is for you to feel welcome and comfortable in our health center.
When you meet with our clinician, please be honest about your medical history and sexual risk factors. If you have certain health problems, we may not be able to give you hormone therapy. Remember that all of our services are confidential (except in cases of abuse),and being open with the clinician will ensure that you receive the best care.
When you meet with one of our clinicians, we may do the following...
Get your complete medical history, including:
- Current health practices
A physical exam, including:
- Blood pressure check
- Screening and evaluation (depending on your health risk, sex at birth, and anatomy)
Laboratory tests, including:
- Blood work to monitor possible side effects of hormones
- STD/HIV testing
It is our goal to provide you with the best health care we can.
