On March 10, 1993, Dr. David Gunn was murdered by a white supremacist anti-abortion extremist. In honor of Dr. Gunn's life and work, as well as the dedication of all the courageous and compassionate individuals who provide abortion care, this day became the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers (beginning in 1996).

Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, challenges to access to essential healthcare have only increased. However, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC) has remained steadfast in our mission to provide care, regardless of obstacles. This is all thanks to our incredible health care staff and providers who are vital in ensuring that everyone has access to reproductive care.

Every day, our staff work diligently to provide essential, compassionate, high-quality reproductive care, supporting our patients through what can often be a challenging experience. From the moment they call to make an appointment to the time they walk through our doors, they encounter a safe and supportive environment where they feel respected and heard.

We express our gratitude to our health care staff for their resilience, compassion, and courage in continuing to provide healthcare and abortion services, even in the face of adversity. If you would like to join us in thanking our dedicated health center staff, please consider donating today in their honor.
