This June marks one year since the Supreme Court made the unjust decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and the federal right to abortion. The almost immediate bans and restrictions that followed impacted millions.
Everyone deserves access to a full range of health services, including sexual and reproductive health care and education, and the fundamental right to control our bodies and futures is not limited to any one gender identity or sexual orientation. No one is free unless they control their own body.
As abortion becomes increasingly restricted and outright banned in many states across the country, many people are forced to travel out of state to get care. And because of bias and misinformation around LGBTQ+ identities, straight, cisgender people may be better able to find support and resources from providers or people who understand their needs. Far too many LGBTQ+ people who need abortions – particularly people from low-income communities- will be left with no options at all.
Despite the ongoing attacks on safe and legal abortion across the country, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC) will never back down from this fight and will continue to provide care to patients in our communities and those who must travel from out-of-state.
On June 23rd and 24th, we invite you to stand in solidarity and defiance of one year since the Supreme Court stripped tens of millions of their right to make their own personal medical decisions. Join us as a uniting force for a weekend of action in Redlands for a line of inspiring speakers and performers and in Santa Ana in partnership with OC Pride. These events are open to everyone who stands for reproductive rights and will be peaceful, family-friendly gatherings.
