Our current Promotores program offers a series of workshops and outreach events for Latino parents, families, and high school students.

Long-term goals include reducing STD and pregnancy rates among adolescents, delaying the onset of sexual activity, and connecting residents to local and accessible health services, including our Concord Health Center.

Highlights include:

Parent-Child Workshops

An important component of the program is parent-child workshops, which build parents’ communication skills in discussing sexual health with their families and communities.

Promotores conducts outreach on high school campuses, and at community fairs and special events.

Breast Cancer Awareness

In recent years, Promotores have also begun to deliver education about breast cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and support, and to encourage breast exams at our health center or other locations.
