LGBTQ+ Care Coordinators
At Planned Parenthood, we want you to live your most authentic life, which means transparent and accessible health care on your terms. We respect all genders and identities, and our goal is to provide care, no matter what.
Our LGBTQ+ Care Coordinators can help you connect with resources in your community, help find answers to your questions, get care at our health centers, or try to smooth out any bumps in the road you encounter along the way.
Questions? We can help.
Our LGBTQ+ Care Coordinators are here to support you, answer your questions, and help connect you with up-to-date resources in your community! We have coordinators available in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
How Can Our LGBTQ+ Care Coordinators Help?
Planned Parenthood North Central States has dedicated LGBTQ Care Coordinators who can help you with:
• Finding trans-affirming therapists and mental health care.
• Finding support groups and other local resources, such as hair removal, voice therapy, and community organizations.
• Navigating insurance coverage for transition care (including handling prior authorizations, helping you file appeals for denied coverage and finding coverage).
• Referrals for gender-affirming surgeries.
• Legal name and/or gender marker change information.
• Information regarding medical, social, and legal transition steps.
• Your experience as a transgender/non-binary patient at Planned Parenthood.
• And more. Just ask.
This Space is for YOU.
If you belong to the LGBTQ+ community, it can often be hard to find health care providers who fully understand your experience. At Planned Parenthood, we create a place where you can understand your health and wellbeing clearly and confidently, free of judgement - because this space is for you.
