Do I need to request a refill in advance? Can I walk-in to a health center?

Birth control refills are ready for pick-up one business day after you request them. If you need your birth control today, you can visit any of our health centers and we'll get it ready. We encourage you to call or request your prescription ahead of time to reduce your wait while at the center.

I'm out of refills.  How do I get a new prescription?

When you run out of refills, schedule an appointment at your nearest Planned Parenthood. We’ll review your medical history with you and can do your annual checkup if it's due.

You can also get a new prescription for birth control from your phone. Try using Planned Parenthood Direct -- no appointment necessary!

When will I get my refills in the mail?

If you live in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota, we offer free shipping on birth control refills. We'll process your order within 24-48 hours and have your birth control in the mail within 3-5 business days. If you haven't received your prescription within seven days, give us a call at 1-855-831-6346.

If you need your prescription sooner, you can request to pick up your prescription at a health center. Refills are available on a walk-in basis, but we encourage you to call or request your prescription ahead of time to reduce your wait while at the health center.

Do I need to be at home to receive the package?

You do not need to be home to sign for receiving your prescription package.  Your package will arrive with your regular mail and will be packaged in an unmarked shipping envelope.

What does the package look like?

Your privacy is a top concern for Planned Parenthood. The package will be in a plain shipping envelope. It will not say Planned Parenthood anywhere on the outside of the package.
