When can I enroll?

Open enrollment for private insurance begins November 1, 2018. If you live in Minnesota, open enrollment ends January 13, 2019. If you live in North Dakota or South Dakota, open enrollment ends December 15, 2018.

Those who qualify for Medicaid, MinnesotaCare, or have a qualifying life event, can enroll at any time. You can read more about qualifying life events on the official HealthCare.gov website.

What can insurance cover?

Plans vary, but most cover a wide range of preventive care, like birth control and annual exams, without copay  or deductible. You can read more about the types of services that are usually covered on the official HealthCare.gov website.

It's a good idea to contact your health insurance company directly to make sure the services you're interested in are covered. They can tell you if you'll need to pay for anything out-of-pocket.
