What if I can't afford insurance?

Financial help is available for individuals making less than $48,240 per year. Most families of four making less than $98,400 will get financial help.

People who do not have insurance for the full year risk paying a fine.

When can I enroll?

Those who qualify for Medicaid, MinnesotaCare, or have a qualifying life event, can enroll at any time. You can read more about qualifying life events on the official HealthCare.gov website.

Open enrollment for private plans ended on January 14, 2018.

What can insurance cover?

Plans vary, but most cover a wide range of preventive care, like birth control and annual exams, without co-pay or deductible. You can read more about the types of services that are usually covered on the official HealthCare.gov website.

It's a good idea to contact your health insurance company directly to make sure the services you're interested in are covered. They can tell you if you'll need to pay for anything out-of-pocket.

Where can I enroll?

Some Planned Parenthood clinics offer regular weekly Navigator hours. All clinics offer enrollments by appointment.

Email [email protected], or call 612.999.1103 to schedule your appointment.

Do I need an appointment?

We encourage you to make an appointment to reduce your wait time. Call 612.999.1103 or email [email protected] to schedule, and to find out what documents you may need in order to enroll.

What should I bring to my appointment?

You will need:

  • Photo ID
  • Your social security number
  • An estimate of your earnings for the next 12 months

In some cases you may need additional documents. We want to make sure you get the most out of your appointment, so when you schedule, we encourage you to discuss what additional documents may apply to you.
