Professional Trainings

DAmore_PPLA_DA_0595_thumb.jpgPlanned Parenthood’s professional development trainings prepare professionals who work with youth to deliver effective and respectful sexual health information and services. We welcome you to join a community effort to provide the best teen-centered services and care possible.

2015 Sexual & Reproductive Health Training

We offer two types of trainings for professionals. Our “basics” sessions cover medically accurate sexual and reproductive health information and strategies for having meaningful conversations about sexuality. Sessions also cover information about confidentiality and teens’ rights to access services. Basic trainings can also serve as refreshers for professionals working in sexuality education or who work with teens to provide other social services.

Our “advanced” sessions help professionals navigate the complex relationship between the individual and broader environment so that they can better support young people. Through our gender and rights framework, these sessions prepare professionals to better understand the cultural norms, socio-economic inequalities, health disparities and institutional factors that impact sexual health.

Most trainings are held at PPLA’s headquarters, unless otherwise noted.
