PPLA’s comprehensive sexuality education curriculum centers on critical thinking, human rights, gender equality, and access to health care, and is aligned with the sexual health education requirements of the California Healthy Youth Act.
Our 7 middle and high school sessions explore the links between developing bodies, diverse orientations and identities, family and personal values, accurate information about health and prevention, cultural norms about sexual behaviors, gender expectations, and rights in relationships.
Presentations are facilitated either by PPLA staff or by volunteer educators who have been certified by Planned Parenthood after completing a rigorous 40-hour training course. Further information on our accomplishments can be found in our Annual Report.
