Update: On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which means that states can now ban abortion. Some states have banned abortion or created lots of restrictions. But abortion is still legal in many states, and it's legal to go to a different state to get an abortion. Abortion is NOT banned nationwide.
Laws about abortion are changing very quickly. You can find more information about laws in your state and how to get an abortion from your local Planned Parenthood health center or abortionfinder.org.
Across the country, there are different rules in different states about abortion. Even in states where abortion is legal, it can sometimes be hard to access, and rules like waiting periods and mandatory counseling can make it more difficult to get an abortion.
If you or someone you know wants to have an abortion, help is available. Your nearest Planned Parenthood health center can give you all the information you need. Our number one goal is taking care of our patients, and no matter what happens, we will continue to do that.
