So me and my boyfriend want to have sex for the first time this summer and i was just wondering can you get pregnant if I’m not on birth control but he wears a condom?

Short answer: Yes, it is possible to get pregnant even when you’re using a condom. That’s because condoms aren’t 100% effective — the only 100% effective way to not get pregnant is to not have vaginal sex.

But when you use condoms correctly, they are really effective at preventing pregnancy. Each year, 2 out of 100 women whose partners always use condoms correctly will become pregnant.

Another great thing about condoms is that they can also reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections. In fact, using condoms and another form of birth control together is a great idea, since you’ll be even more protected against pregnancy and you’ll reduce your risk of infections.
